One would think that Tiger Woods would let his son Charlie use any golf equipment he wants, but that’s where Tiger’s different! Tiger had made sure that two of the putters from his collection were off-limits for Charlie – the Scotty Cameron Newport TeI3 (from 1997 Masters win), and the Newport 2 GSS, with which Woods has won 14-major titles in golf.
Charlie knows there are two putters he can’t touch. There’s the black one I won with the Teryllium insert. I won the Masters in ’97 with it and this Scotty Cameron.
They sit next to each other. Touch any other putter, do anything you want with any other putter. But these putters are off-limits.
It is not a secret that Tiger Woods uses Scotty Cameron putter for all of his major competitions; The brand makes customized putters for the golf legend. So, it was understandable why the father didn’t want his son to play with that.
