A crossover movie with both DC Comics and MK characters would be something truly special for fans who follow both the universe devotedly. However, Jeremy Adams, animation writer for Warner Bros. recently revealed that he did pitch an idea for a movie like that which was turned down by the production studio.

This fan believes the opportunity could have been very rewarding for Warner Bros. However, the fan seems to have concluded that Warner Bros. isn’t eyeing revenues at the end of the day.

1. During Johnny Cage’s movie filming scene, he articulates the line, “It belongs in a museum,” directly referencing a famous line from the movie Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark, in which Indiana Jones exclaims the quote when discussing valuable artifacts.

2. After Johnny Cage triumphs over Katara Valor, he hurls a shield at Katara, potentially alluding to Captain America and his iconic circular shield. However, it’s important to note that this reference may not be explicitly linked to Captain America, as his throwing shield is one of his signature moves in action films.

3. In a scene within the secret agenda chapter, Johnny passionately exclaims, “Get away from her, you b****,” mirroring a renowned line from the 1986 sci-fi horror film Aliens. In the movie, during a battle with the Alien Queen in a robotic exoskeleton, Ripley asserts, “Get away from her, you b****!”

Nintendo Switch was released in 2017. The handheld console is one of the most sold consoles in the world and has a long range of exclusive titles. Along with these exclusive games, the console also supports third-party titles. However, allegations have surfaced every now and then complaining that the Switch struggles to run high-demand titles at times. Despite such allegations, Mortal Kombat 1 has been made available on the 6-year-old console. The results are, let’s say, not what we’d expect for a game released in 2023.

However, given the high price of the game, the Redditor thinks the devs should address the issues ASAP.

While the game’s accurate OS need is Windows 10/11 on 64 Bit, it can run lowest on Windows 10, 64 Bit. The fighting game will need 8GB RAM at least for the game’s successful run. For CPU, this source’s leak suggested Intel Core i5-8400k/ AMD Ryzen 5 3600.

Users with a minimum Intel Core i5-6600 or AMD Ryzen 3 3100/ Ryzen 5 2600 can play this fighting game. What brought fans’ attention mostly to this leak is the 100 GB storage needed for Mortal Kombat 1’s installation. Now that they revealed the system requirements for PC to all, let’s have a look at the game’s Xbox storage needs.

While the game’s availability on multiple platforms appealed to fans, gamers are currently worried over the game’s enormous size. Recently, an Xbox gamer revealed that after installing the game, it occupied 140 GB of the console’s storage. This user’s version was Mortal Kombat 1’s Premium Edition. While Xbox X users might have to give up almost one-third of their console’s storage, Xbox S users need 101 GB for installation. This is also because the Xbox series S does not support 4K visuals. Despite people worried about Mortal Kombat 1’s immense size, they can’t wait to explore the plethora of opportunities the game presents.

This poster itself is a testament to its maker’s creativity and obsession with the franchise. Although this is not the first poster for this movie made by this fan, he has made several other Mortal Kombat 2 posters as well.

As of now, since July 2023, all the work on this movie has been paused due to ongoing strikes. If the strikes are resolved before the end of 2023 or toward the start of 2024, the movie should finish filming in 2024, which leaves 2025 open as a realistic release date. But that will all depend on how much of a knock-on effect the strikes have had on Mortal Kombat 2’s production.
