Even After 9 Years, Acclaimed Hollywood Filmmaker is Still Upset With Konami Over A Forgotten P.T. Demo

Nine years after its cancellation, a highly anticipated horror game remains unreleased. Such occurrences are common in the gaming industry, where many announced titles never materialize. This particular cancellation, emblematic of the trend, has left one of the developers disheartened.

The Rise and Fall of Silent Hills: A Horror Game Saga

Renowned for horror, Silent Hill was poised for a legacy continuation with 'Silent Hills.'

Hideo Kojima and Guillermo del Toro joined forces for this pinnacle project. To tantalize fans, Kojima Productions released the demo "P.T." (Playable Teaser) on August 12, 2014, offering a sneak peek into the forthcoming game.

The demo, a success, heightened excitement for the main release. Sadly, the anticipated game was never launched, and even the P.T. demo was pulled from the PlayStation Network, leaving a void in the gaming community.

Guillermo del Toro's Unreleased Game Heartbreak

Renowned filmmaker Guillermo del Toro, with multiple Academy Awards and accolades, teamed up with Hideo Kojima for Silent Hills.

Despite their efforts, the game never saw daylight, a lingering regret for del Toro. On P.T.'s 9th anniversary, his tweet, hinting at Konami frustrations, reflects the pain of his unfulfilled work.

The fallout between Konami and Kojima Productions after Metal Gear Solid V's release marked a turning point, ultimately sealing the fate of Silent Hills.
