The de Vries-Ricciardo drama

After joining the AlphaTauri team, Nyck de Vries has struggled on the track. He was reportedly given a 3-race ultimatum to improve his performance. Unfortunately, he got booted, as Daniel Ricciardo will be racing for the AlphaTauri team for the rest of the season.

The man responsible for De Vries’ firing

The current advisor to the Red Bull team, Helmut Marko is the one who picks talent and furnishes them. He is also a hard man to please, as he previously took some hard decisions to swap drivers in the middle of the season. Recently, he took the decision to kick de Vries out as well.

Former F1 champion talks about Marko

Damon Hill, a former F1 champion, recently gave an interview on the ‘F1 Nation’ podcast, saying, “Helmut Marko is the hard man of Red Bull. He is the hard man of racing. He is the guy who picks the talent. He is the guy who literally picks talent or furnishes out. He does not have any sentimentality about his business.”
