Zak Brown’s ‘cheating’ allegations against Red Bull

The FIA introduced a $145 million budget cap for every team in 2021. Later, the FIA found out that the Red Bull team had breached the cap by 1.6%. As a result, Red Bull received a $7 million fine and a 10% reduction in its aerodynamic testing allowance for 12 months. Zak Brown said in 2022, “The overspend breach, and possibly the procedural breaches, constitute cheating by offering a significant advantage across technical, sporting, and financial regulations.”

Red Bull will introduce further upgrades

Even with the ban and fine, Red Bull has managed to create the best possible car on the grid, as there’s no competition for Max Verstappen. On the other hand, a lot of teams, like McLaren, are trying to catch up to Red Bull; hence Max talked about introducing some upgrades, saying, “Hungary is a completely different circuit, we will put some upgrades on the car, and hopefully, they will work well.”

Zak Brown praises Verstappen

In a recent interview, Brown said, “[Max is] doing an unbelievable, unbelievable job, and it is great to see World Champions at the top of their game, so you got to admire what he’s doing.” Speaking about the rest of the pack, Brown said, “Once you look past Max, the field is unbelievably condensed. I think it’s just going to get more exciting as we move forward.”
