Arguably the greatest F1 driver of all time, Michael Schumacher had a legendary career. On the other hand, his son Mick Schumacher is pretty new to F1 and has yet to make his mark on the sport. Currently, he is the reserve driver for the Mercedes team. Recently, he paid homage to his father, which won the hearts of many fans.
The 2006 season was Schumacher’s last season at Ferrari. He became an advisor for Ferrari in the following years. However, he decided to return to racing in 2010 with the Mercedes team. In 2012, he announced his retirement for the second time, as Lewis Hamilton replaced him in the Mercedes team.
Recently, at the Goodwood Festival, fans witnessed Mick Schumacher’s amazing gesture to his dad, as he wore his father’s Mercedes suit along with his iconic red helmet. He was also standing in front of his father’s 2011 W02 car. Mercedes F1 team posted the picture on Instagram and captioned it: “M. Schumacher.”
After seeing Mick wearing his father’s suit, many fans became nostalgic. One fan wrote, “Who’s cutting onions?” One more user said, “Enough to make a grown man cry.” Another fan said, “This is emotional but imagine seeing Mick in his dads Ferrari suit and helmet with his car.” Another user wrote, “Michael should be proud.”
