Apart from playing golf, professionals enjoy watching or even trying their hand at other sports. Moreover, Football is arguably on the top of the list, at least for John Daly. Among others, Daly is an avid lover of the sport and his recent revelation is a testament to the same.
Long John revealed, “Well I mean, I remember 91 I was almost going to kick a field going to a pre-season game for the Colts. And Perse wanted to do it but the insurance and all, the NFL said no. But I met Jeff George and I Knew Eric Dickerson through SMU. They used to kick our ass in football when I was playing golf in Arkansas.”
Daly added, “I said, ‘man it’s great to see you guys. I would love to have your jerseys.’ So they took them off, sign them, and then it all became this and all over this house in the cowboy rooms upstairs. I mean, some of the jerseys I got I mean, it’s just incredible what golf’s done for me to meet all these great people.”
Daly played at the ClubCorp Classic in Las Colinas Country Club. The two-time major championship winner finished the event with an overall score of four over par. As a result, the big hitter finished in tied 59th position after the final round
Scott Parel ended the event with an overall score of 11-under-par. He forced an epic three-person playoff between himself, Steven Alker, and Gene Sauers. But in the end, Scott emerged as the winner after he made a par on the first playoff hole.
