reasons for buying the Lion’s Den Club

“It was just the right thing to do. The members were struggling, I get so many out town players that come in, and I just.. just made it public,” the two-time major champion further added.

“They had bent greens, and they didn’t have the money to spend on,” he added. Daly further explained that it was a membership-based golf course when he brought it. Furthermore, he even kept it like that for almost 13 years.

Nicknamed Long John, Daly is known for his ability to hit long drives. He had even won his first-ever major title at the PGA Championship in 1991 at Crooked Stick with his long driving distance. Therefore, it was natural for the interviewer to be curious about how low Daly scored on his own golf club. “I have actually shot 57 on this course,” the golfer proudly said.
