Phil Mickelson Reveals the Only Reason Why He’s Still Fighting Against the PGA Tour

Phil Mickelson has a reputation for always being on top of the news in the world of Golf. Be it his personal or professional life, either way, the celebrity is known for making it to the headlines. Off late, the Twitter sensation made a comment involving an ongoing rift that put him in the spotlight, yet again.

What did Mickelson comment on?

Mickelson recently made a remark involving a lawsuit in which he was one of the parties, against the PGA tour. The comment interests a lot of people and generated intrigue in his following, and the world of golf, in general.

Phil Mickelson wants to fight for the players.

Phil’s move to LIV Golf is not unknown to anyone involved in the game. The player had made claims against the tour involving how the additional money was being used by the officials involved in the PGA Tour. Later the Tour did increase the purses of the events conducted from 2022-23. This move was made in light of the possibility of losing more players to LIV Golf.

This move somehow made Phil’s claim prove right in an indirect manner.

Phil had said, “I think the fans are getting a lot of benefit out of this, and all golfers, all professional golfers are getting a lot of benefits. The guys on the tour are playing for a lot more money. It’s great that they magically found a couple hundred million; that’s awesome. Everybody is I think in a better position now than they were a year ago.”

Lately, Mickelson is seen to be considering withdrawing his name from the lawsuit he had filed.

Stating the reasons for the fight, he said, “The only reason for me to stay in is [monetary] damages, which I don’t really want or need anything. I do think it’s important that the players have the right to play when and where they want, when and where they qualify for. And now that LIV is a part of it, that will be accomplished if and when they win.’’

Phil Mickelson explained the reason for his move. He said, “This new path is a fresh start, one that is exciting for me at this stage of my career and is clearly transformative, not just for myself, but ideally for the game and my peers. I would like to think that I have given back as well but now I am excited about this new opportunity.”
