When Phil Mickelson Went All Out During His Wife Amy’s Birthday Celebrations

Sportsmen treasure their trophies and their wins. While some display them out in the open for the whole world to see, others keep them safe and admire their victory every time they see it. A lot of times, these gather dust, and it seems like Phil Mickelson has found a way around that. He once posted a video of himself drinking out of his PGA Championship Cup.

Phil Mickelson gets a bit crazy

Last year, Phil Mickelson went a little crazy at his wife Amy’s birthday celebration. The former PGA star posted a tweet of him drinking wine. but not in a regular wine glass. The 52-year-old was drinking out of the legendary Wanamaker.

Lefty poured some of his favorite wine, that one of his friends had sent him, into the PGA Championship cup, and then took a sip. After savoring the taste, he said, “I know the wine is good, but there’s something about the Wanamaker that just gives it that little extra.”

The hilarious Mickelson never fails to entertain his fans, and no doubt he left them giggling and laughing just like his wife. He smugly tweeted with the video, “The wine had an extra ingredient this time—just a dash of VICTORY” and then added, “Tastes so good!” The 6 time major winner definitely earning that sip as well as the cup he sipped from.

How did Phil get his hands on the Wannamaker?

Mickelson has won the PGA Championship twice. This means he has two Wannamakers. He won the first in 2005 by beating Thomas Bjørn and Steve Elkington by a stroke. The legend won with a total score of 276, 4 under par. That win was also his second major championship win.

15 years later, Phil won the cup again, and this time he became the oldest man to ever win a major, doing so at the age of just under 51. Lefty won his sixth major championship by two strokes over Brooks Koepka and Louis Oosthuizen. He ended the game with a score of 282, 6 under par.
