Derek Jeter and Alex Rodriguez Keep Their Distance While Attending a Golf Tournament With 50 Cent

Two of the greatest players that MLB would probably never see again, Derek Jeter and Alex Rodriguez, went from being best friends to be the biggest enemies of each other. The chapter that unfolded when the twenty-first century started is yet to be closed.

What happened?

The frenemies attended the Reggie Jackson Golf Tournament. But as everyone at the tournament posed for a group picture, the former Captain of the Bronx Bombers maintained a good enough distance from his once best friend, Alex ‘A-Rod’ Rodriguez.

Maintaining distance

If whatever happened between Jeter and A-Rod is now over, then there was no apparent reason for him to stand far away from the owner of A-Rod Corp. However, it is possible that things might not be better between the two and the reason Jeter said that everything is over was that he didn’t want to get asked about it anymore.

How did the two meet?

The Captain had met Rodriguez during a college baseball game when A-Rod was still in high school. It was that moment when the two met and became friends. After that, their bond started to get stronger.

A friendship that fell apart

When Rodriguez signed the biggest contract in MLB history in 2000, everything changed. He said that anyone could compete with him on the contract but not Jeter. It was the start that eventually made them enemies.
