Denny’s take on the Masters Tournament


“It was a good week,” he said. “Masters was this week, Jon Rahm wins his second major I think. Brooks (Koepka), man, I mean, holy cow, how happy is the PGA Tour that Brooks didn’t win? But old Phil (Mickelson) … he played great on that last day, shot 65 and I think he’s tied for second. But man, the Masters is so great.”

Hamlin prefers Jordan’s course


“From what I hear, I’ve never played Augusta, I would love to play Augusta, but from what I hear from people who have played said, ‘Oh the golf course is amazing. But the experience is terrible. So stuffy,'” he claimed. “Like it’s just, ‘You can’t do this, you can’t do that,’ which is the total opposite of Michael Jordan’s course.”

In an interaction with media ahead of the race in Bristol, Denny Hamlin pointed towards the anonymous survey that The Athletic conducted recently in which a majority of crew chiefs disapproved of the fact that Hendrick’s penalty was modified to be only a monetary fine. “I think that was a pretty unanimous sentiment inside the garage,” he claimed.
