“Might as Well Stop Trying” – Frustrated Kyle Busch Makes Disheartening Confession Amid Unfortunate Result in Truck Series

Kyle Busch was perhaps on his way to win the 64th race in the Truck Series when a yellow flag, bought out by an accident on the track, followed by a red flag, because of the rain at Martinsville, went on to solidify the fears of a rain-shortened race. The race was over at lap 124 and Rowdy was 2nd and, as you’d expect, Busch was frustrated.

What did Kyle say?

“We did set up our truck for a long run you know and we never got that. The longest run of the race we got was on the wet,” he said. “Nothing’s gone our way strategy-wise this year so we might as well stop trying.”

What did he say in addition?

“Don’t call it rain, it wasn’t rain, it was dry. It was raining but the track was a little bit wet and the tires were drying the rest of the track the rest of the way. Right now, honestly this is a little bit of a rain maybe, depending on the spray, but we didn’t even give it a chance. Wasting our time.”

No good short-run truck

In another post-race interview, Kyle Busch further emphasized his point about them not having a truck for the short run. “We just didn‘t have a good enough short-run truck,” Busch said as per Yahoo. “It did not go our way today, unfortunately.”
