Chase Elliott has been out of action for a fairly long time. The 2020 Cup Series champion injured himself earlier this year in an accident and broke his leg. Fortunately, for Elliott fans, there has been an update regarding the Hendrick Motorsports star.
The bad news is that Elliott will not be back behind the wheel in the coming race weekend. Next on the Cup Series calendar is Martinsville, which is a short track that requires heavy use of the left leg to brake. Since Elliott’s left leg was injured, coming back there is pretty much out of the question.
As per the guesstimate of a fair number of fans, Elliott could target a return at Talladega. The race after that is at the Dover Motor Speedway, which is a one-mile track. Additionally, some fans claimed that Dover is a bit treacherous in its own right. However, some fans continued to be optimistic about Elliott’s return at Talladega.
Many are of the opinion that Talladega is the most sensible choice owing to the speed factor and lesser dependence on braking. A general consensus was that if Elliott were to jump back into the fold, it would be at the Talladega Superspeedway.
