A bizarre and terrifying incident!

A retired pro surfer Matthew Cassidy's biceps and arteries were cut down by the fin of a rogue surfboard whose leg rope broke at Byron's Bay Wategos beach, Australia.

What happened after the accident?

“big chunk of flesh flying through the air followed by a lot of blood," said Cassidy as he wrapped up his wet suit on the wound and soon rushed to Gold Coast hospital by helicopter ride.

Cassidy's burst out after the terrifying incident

Cassidy lashed out at people for not wearing leg ropes and in his conversation to Daily Mail, "But there is no surfer I know who can go a whole surf without losing their board. It’s just a selfish act [to not wear a leg rope] in a place that’s that crowded."

While remembering the incident, Cassidy got emotional and said, “Bleeding out on a beach while trying to catch a last glimpse of your wife’s face is not something I wish on anyone.”
