Surfer Faces ‘Extremely Rare and Isolated’ Encounter With Bronze Whaler Shark at a Popular Spot

No wonder the surfers are the 'big boss' on the surface of the ocean with their majestic surfboards. However, the underworld below the blue turf is ruled by the sharks. Moreover, these predators don't compromise when it comes to their territory. For surfers, the sharks are nightmares. In a similar case, when surfer Max Marsden encountered a 1.5-meter-long shark, it was as painful as one can't imagine!

Australian surfer Max Marsden was surfing at a hostile Lucy's beach with his companion when a 1.5m long Bronze Whaler Shark bit on Max's arm.


After events of the terrifying bite!

The emergency services immediately responded and took Max to the hospital. Though he was declared in a 'non-life-threatening situation', he still had to undergo surgery.

City Mayor surprised at "rare" shark attack!

According to ABC News, Greater Geraldton mayor Shane Van Styn was quite surprised as he said, "It is an extremely rare and isolated event, and city staff have temporarily closed the beach for the time being, but it is unlikely to trigger any further actions.”
