‘Scrambling to Make Her Relevant’- Forgotten Tennis Star Naomi Osaka’s Name Comes to the Foray as Top Seeds Falter at 2023 Australian Open

Naomi Osaka has long been away from tennis now. After opting out of the Japan Open, the 25-year-old pulled out of the Australian Open. Later, she revealed her pregnancy. This means that the four-time Grand Slam champion will be out of action for almost a year. However, fans have not forgotten her and wish to see her back on the court. While the fans are happy for her, they are certainly missing her on the tennis court. They have reminisced about the dominant Naomi Osaka on Social Media.

Fans miss a dominant Naomi Osaka as Iga Swiatek crashes out of the Australian Open 2023.

World Number 1 Iga Swiatek suffered a straight-set defeat against the last year’s Wimbledon champion Elena Rybakina. The Kazakh was phenomenal throughout the match and ended the hopes of having a back-to-back WTA Grand Slam winner.

The last WTA star to win two Grand Slam titles back to back was the Japanese tennis star, Naomi Osaka.

Osaka did it when she won the 2020 US Open, followed by Australian Open 2021. However, the former world number one failed to replicate her old form after that.

Osaka was going through a disastrous form before taking the maternity break.

After her controversial withdrawal from the French Open 2021, Osaka lost the initial round of the maximum tournaments she played. Now that she is going to have the added responsibility of being a mother on her shoulders, fans are concerned about her tennis future.

Here’s how the fans reacted.

One fan tweeted by saying she needs more Tweets on Osaka.
