The Belarusian tennis player Victoria Azarenka‘s admiration for Lionel Messi was quite evident when she constantly rooted for Argentina during the FIFA World Cup 2022. Now, Azarenka has taken it to the next level as she was spotted donning Messi’s current club, Paris Saint-Germain’s jersey during her quarterfinal clash against the American, Jessica Pegula.

The former world No. 1 was further asked by her shirt sponsor to remove the PSG jersey. However, Azarenka’s admiration for the Argentine soccer legend made her reluctant enough as she continued on the court with the same shirt.

The Belarusian tennis star has put on some brilliant displays in order to reach the quarterfinals of the Australian Open. Victoria Azarenka entered the court while donning a Paris Saint-Germain jersey for her match against her close friend Jessica Pegula. It is further being reported that her shirt sponsor, Nike, asked her to take that jersey off, however, she continued with that.

Notably, one of the fans said, “Victoria Azarenka who returns to the court with a PSG shirt in each of her matches at this Australian Open, despite the fact that she was asked to withdraw the shirt sponsor. The PSG brand shines everywhere”.
