Last night’s Riyadh Season Cup game was a nail-biter. Al Hilal displayed pure dominance against Al Nassr, as Cristiano Ronaldo and Co. got battered 2-0 in the enthralling derby. But what has caught the soccer world off-guard is an after-match reaction of frustration from none other than CR7. In a shocking display, the Portuguese superstar made an offensive gesture with a rival shirt.

The eyebrow-raising incident transpired as the 39-year-old was walking down the tunnel with his team’s staff and players. That’s when a few Al Hilal fans were shouting his name as he walked into the tunnel and threw a jersey and scarf at Cristiano Ronaldo’s head. However, the not-in-a-mood skipper bent to pick up one of the jerseys and shockingly rubbed it against his crotch, tossing it in the air. This shocking and unexpected gesture was recorded by a few fans in the stadium. Notably, the clips went viral within seconds.

In the video, amid the loud music, it cannot be heard if fans said anything that may have provoked the Real Madrid icon. However, the defeat against his arch-rivals must have caught up with him and the 5x Ballon d’Or winner did the unthinkable. CR7’s gesture has created a stir in the soccer world, as he faces backlash from everywhere. In fact, Cristiano Ronaldo can even receive a legal notice from Neymar‘s employers. As of now, no comments have been made by the management of Al Hilal or Al Nassr.

A frustrating night for Cristiano Ronaldo and Al Nassr

While Al Nassr fans were disappointed with the outcome, it appears that CR7 shared their sentiment. Swiftly changing into a training kit before the final presentation, the captain displayed signs of anger as he walked up the pitch to accept the runners-up award. The frustrations are valid considering the numbers he and his team produced on the night. Despite playing the entire 90+10 minutes, the soccer veteran attempted 7 shots during the game, managing to keep only one on target.

One take at a time

I first kicked a soccer ball when I was 12. My early exposure to playing the sport earned me many accolades at the zonal and district levels. I still remember my first goal, where I scored a 90+5 minute header like Sergio Ramos did in the 2014 Champions League final against Atletico Madrid.
