Heartbroken Russell Wilson Mourns the Devastating Demise of College Football Legend

The legendary former athlete and head coach of Dartmouth College,  Eugene F. "Buddy" Teevens, died at age 66, leaving the sports world in mourning. Russell Wilson, quarterback for the Denver Broncos, posted a tribute to the legend's passing on Instagram, expressing his grief.

The NFL community mourns the death of Teevens with posts expressing their grief over the celebrated coach’s passing. Quarterback Russell Wilson shared a picture of the late legend and captioned it with heartbreaking emojis.

Teevens’ 79 met an accident

In March, Teevens’ bike was hit by a pickup truck, which landed him in hospital. According to his wife, Kirsten Teevens, the accident left him with an amputated leg and spinal cord injuries. Six months following the accident, the former athlete passed away surrounded by family. 

His contribution will always be remembered

Teevens is renowned for his contribution to ensuring the safety of NFL athletes. To avoid full-contact practices, he introduced Dartmouth's Thayer School of Engineering of the Mobile Virtual Player, a robotic dummy. Additionally, he was involved in hiring Dartmouth's first full-time female Division I coach.
