Kansas City Chiefs Become a Beacon of Hope for Alex Smith Amid His Daughter’s Brave Fight With Life

The Kansas City Chiefs spread hope during a challenging phase of their former teammate Alex Smith's life. Smith, who was associated with the Chiefs in 2013, continued to add to the teams' success during his tenure until 2017. The Chiefs repaid him for his contribution through their best wishes.

Smith’s never-ending suffering

Smith suffered a broken tibia and fibula during a match against the Houston Texans in 2018, which nearly resulted in the amputation of his leg. Afterward, a flesh-eating bacteria infected his leg post-surgery, nearly costing him his life. Despite the challenges, he successfully recovered and retired in 2021.

Alex Smith’s toughest battle

According to the reports, Smith’s 7-year-old daughter, Sloane, who was diagnosed with a massive brain tumor and underwent a 10-hour extensive surgery to remove it last year, was taken to the hospital for another lengthy operation.

The Kansas City Chiefs’ humane thoughts

The Chiefs expressed their good wishes for Smith on Instagram, stating, "You're our family forever, Alex. All of Chiefs Kingdom's thoughts, prayers, and love are with you and your family during this time ❤️."
