NFL GOAT Tom Brady's Successor Baker Mayfield Reflects on Rams' Super Bowl Loss and Considers it a Success

After a disappointing 2022 season, Baker Mayfield has now formally signed a one-year contract with the Buccaneers for the upcoming season. The quarterback had his worst NFL professional season last year, splitting time between the Rams and the Panthers. But when speaking with the media, Mayfield said he didn't think what happened the previous year had humbled him.

How the 2022 Season went for Mayfeild

Cleveland traded Mayfield to Carolina last offseason after the Browns obtained Deshaun Watson. Mayfield started the season as the Panthers' primary quarterback, but after having trouble, he was let go. After that, he joined the Rams, starting the remainder of the campaign in place of an ailing Matthew Stafford.

Mayfield a Playoff contender?

In 12 games last season, the former first-round draft pick acquired 2,163 yards, 10 touchdown passes, and 8 interceptions. After being unsure of his future going into the offseason, Mayfield is thrilled to have the opportunity to start for a playoff contender in 2023.

Baker Mayfield on not
 being humbled

“I wouldn’t say that the last year really humbled me. I learned a lot from it,” said Mayfield, to the press in the introductory session. “I still believed in myself like that’s the only way I was able to, to get through it and finish on somewhat of a high note like real life.”
