Days After Russian NHL Star Ivan Provorov’s Controversy, New York Rangers’ Latest Act Creates Quite a Stir

Hockey has become an inclusive sport over the years. Every June the league celebrates pride month. However, some recent events have created quite a stir on the issue.

The Russian defenseman of the Flyers did not wear a pride jersey in warmups citing religious beliefs.

Both the NHL and Philadelphia Flyers came in support of the player's choice to choose which initiatives he wants to support.

New York Rangers sent an email to fans

In the email, Rangers indicated that players would be wearing pride-themed jerseys during warmups and using pride-themed tape on their sticks.

Rangers no show

However, the Rangers did warm up in their regular jerseys. Rangers are yet to release a statement on this unannounce reversal.
