With a Whopping $2.2 Billion Net Worth, NHL Franchises Get a Special Shoutout From Forbes Magazine

Ice Hockey has been widely recognized as one of the most in-demand and cash-rich sports in the Winter Sports category. Moreover, NHL teams and owners have been drowning in wealth since the latest revenue estimate, the topmost being $2.2 billion.

As per Forbes analysis, the standard revenue generated by NHL teams are now at $1.03 billion. Surprisingly, exceeding the previous best of $1 billion and with a proportionate increase of 19 percent compared to 2021.

According to an article by Forbes, hockey team partners are getting filthy rich resulting from the latest NHL revenue estimates, at $1.03 billion. Besides that, the New York Rangers crowned the list for the eighth time consecutively with a net worth of $2.2 billion in 2022, while previously at $2 billion.

Evidently, the Broadway Blueshirts are the most elite team in the league. However, the team has reportedly won only one Stanley Cup to their name, in 1994, even after playing in numerous playoffs since the year of 2012; overall after a long 82 years.

Despite that, the Manhattan-based team has equaled the Los Angeles Kings in terms of generated revenue of $249 million. Reportedly, they were the only NHL franchise to garner more than $100 million in the non-elite stub category. 

Toronto Maple Leafs follow the Rangers

As the NHL Team Values 2022 list goes on, following the New York Rangers are the Toronto Maple Leafs, clinched at the second position, per sources. Their average estimate held at $2 billion, an 11 percent increase in comparison to the previous years.

However, the Blues and Whites haven’t been able to establish their victory with the Stanley Cup since 1967. Stirring up such revenue had to be credited to the hockey fanbase of Canada, yielding in ultimate media profits of $90 million.
