"The one who is protected by God, cannot be killed by anyone". 70-year-old three-time equestrian Vicki Roycroft surely did prove this saying right. The veteran equestrian suffered such a terrible fate before the Sydney Royal Easter Show last month that the equestrian almost kicked off the bucket before riding her equine property. However, a miraculous save from a veterinarian surprisingly saved the victim equestrian. But how?

Olympic equestrian legend Vicki Roycroft suffered a burst aorta at the Sydney Royal Easter showjumping competition last month and revealed she "was dead for 11 minutes".

The angel veterinarian who saved equestrian legend's life!

Mark Schembri, a veterinarian who was close by to the incident, immediately performed CPR and took Vicki to the hospital to fix the tear in her aorta with an 8-hour operation.

What's Roycroft's condition now?

Roycroft returned to her home NSW central coast while the equestrian legend was recovering from her injury as she said, "I hope to get back to a reasonably normal life".
