 At the 2023 World Wrestling Championship, Stevan Micic made history for Serbia. He secured the men's freestyle world title. The Wrestling Champ grew up in the Chicago metropolitan area and displayed his connection by having a chill in Belgrade wearing 'Air Jordans'

 Stevan Micic achieves championship dream

 Stevan Micic won the bronze medal last year at WCC. The Serbian wrestler showed great determination at the 2023 WCC, defeating Zaur Uguev, Zelimkhan Abakarov, and Higuchi Rei in the 57kg freestyle finals to win the gold medal.

Stevan Micic's US connection

Stevan Micic grew up in the Northwest Indiana, Chicago metropolitan area in Serbian locality. U-M graduate and three-time NCAA All-American represented the US at the Junior World Championship in 2015 and won the bronze medal. Later, he shifted his allegiance in 2018 to his father's birth country, Serbia.

The champion posted a picture on social media, showing off his chill vibes in Michael Jordan's iconic AJ1 Chicago shoes during his off-season after the WCC. Micic sported the shoe along with a Nike top and pouch across his shoulder amid a fun time with an acquaintance on the street of Belgrade.
