Neck lump inhibited the points streak of NHL legend

Mario Lemieux was having a great 1992-93 season and had 101 points in the first 39 games. However, when his neck lump got diagnosed, he found that he had cancer on January 15, 1993.


A Heroic Return from Cancer

Mario continuously received radiation treatment and returned to the rink after his final treatment on March 2, 1993.

Lemieux's performance after comeback

Soon after joining the rink, Mario scored his 40th goal and later assisted in one goal to record his 34th multi-point game of the season.

Mario Lemieux devastated the opposition in the rest of the 1992-93 season and scored 30 goals, 26 assists, and 23.4 goals created which is an unbeatable play in a 20-game stretch.
