Terrifying Video Shows Paddle Boarders’ Close Encounter With Shark

Coming in close contact with what is considered one of the deadliest creatures of the explored ocean dials up the fear quite a bit. The reason we are saying this is because a group of paddle boarders were chased by a hammerhead shark while in the middle of the ocean between the Bahamas and the U.S. Scary right?

The place of incident

On June 18, a fundraising event called The Crossing for Cystic Fibrosis was organised. During the event, the participants paddle 75 miles on paddleboards from the Bahamas to Palm Beach County. However, for one participant, the competition turned life-threatening.

Paddleboarders' scary encounter shark

Malea Tribble, a participant, was about halfway through the journey when the shark swam up behind her, circled her, and even swam under her board.

How did the shark encounter end?

Luckily, she, as well as another nearby paddleboarder, were able to seek refuge on a nearby crew boat. Eventually, the shark lost interest and swam away without incident.
