“Try Again”: Simone Biles Slams Leading Daily for Photo Screw Up

After a string of domestic events, Simone Biles marked her return to the global stage with a flurry of golds and took the total medal tally at world championships and Olympic Games to 37 - a record. However, the Wall Street Journal did not get it right.

Wall Street Journal's blunder

In WSJ’s coverage of the achievement, it committed a journalistic blunder of depicting someone else in its featured photo. Instead of Biles, the article showed fellow American gymnast Shilese Jones, and Biles was quick to point out the error.

That's not me!

Correcting the publication, "This picture isn’t even me… try again," wrote Biles on X. Although, a few hours later, the publication’s X account responded to Simone to let her know about the correction, many users got the screenshots to call out WSJ.

Fans Rip Wall Street Journal

While many thought it was all fun, some people considered it an embarrassment. One user wrote: “This is so disrespectful to a true champion like Simone Biles." while another commented: "@WSJ what the hell?! Simone is literally one of the most well known and recognizable athletes ON EARTH. Do better."
