University of New Orleans Blesses Track and Field World With a Massive $19 Million Update


In the past, the University of New Orleans was even unable to host NCAA Division I events due to the lack of infrastructure. However, the times have changed as UNO unveiled its ambitious $19 million plans for a cutting-edge hospitality facility and a state-of-the-art track and field stadium. Here's what you need to know about the exciting capital projects green-lit by state authorities. 

Track and field stadium for intercollegiate athletics 

The University of New Orleans’ transformation includes a $13 million track and field stadium, poised to be a state-of-the-art facility. A number of additions, including a soccer-size field, a 9-lane track, and even a press box, will become a part of the multi-million dollar stadium.

UNO's plans to educate leaders in Hospitality 

Another highlight of the project is the construction of a $6 million hospitality facility. This new facility is set to become the pride of UNO’s Lester E. Kabacoff School of Hotel, Restaurant, and Tourism Administration.

Outlay of UNO's project 

Funded by Louisiana state’s 2023-24 budget, first-year money goes for the planning phase of the project, with construction slated to commence the second year.
