"Not Until the First Time": 10-Year-Old Canadian Prodigy Turns Heads in the Skateboarding World With Tony Hawk as Her Mentor for X Games.

Reese Nelson, a rising star in the skateboarding world, shared her experience of being coached by the skateboard GOAT, Tony Hawk. Hawk, on the other hand, expressed his pride in this novice. While standing on the verge of participating in the historic competition, women skateboarding on the vert, Nelson talked about her initial meeting with the skateboard legend.

This 10-year-old skateboarder, who snatched the third position in the Vert Alert organized by Tony Hawk himself, and won the Women's Best trick event to grab a position at the X-Games in Ventura, California, stated she couldn't recognize how grand figure Hawk is until they made a public appearance. She also said getting Hawk as his mentor is indeed a rewarding experience for her.

Winning the Vert Alert in 2021 led Nelson to Hawk, after which Hawk chose to be her mentor. Upon observing her skills and determination, Hawk now has a major aspiration for Nelson in her upcoming X-Games.

This X-Game has a special place in Nelson's heart as women's vert skateboarding hasn't been organized on X-Games since 2010. This will be the first game that is going to be held at the X-Games after her birth, and she will participate, which is feeling her heart with a surge of excitement.
