Ryan Lochte’s banishment from Rio Olympics

Allegedly, Ryan Lochte, the professional US swimmer, was suspended from the 2016 Summer Olympics, followed by his lie of getting robbed. During the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio De Janeiro, this professional swimmer, along with his two other friends, claimed that they were robbed at gunpoint, which was proved false allegation after investigation.

Hope Solo’s controversial comment

After losing the soccer quarterfinal to Sweden during the 2016 Olympics, Hope Solo addressed his opponent’s team as a ‘bunch of cowards’, which led her to get an early contract termination. 

Islam El Shehaby was sent home by his own team

Following a loss to Israeli Or Sasson, Egyptian judoka Islam El Shehaby refused to shake hands which went against the rule of the Olympics. Though there isn't any such rule of handshaking, the humiliating behaviour goes against the game's "rules of fair play" and "spirit of friendship", which leads Shehaby's own team to send him back home. 

Diving into a bad-smelling green pool

During the 2016 Rio Olympics, some pools suddenly turned green, and diving in them caused the athlete's itchy eyes. Not only that, the water of the pools were stinking. However, upon investigation, the truth came forth that, in terms of cleaning the water, a contractor poured hydrogen peroxide into the pool, which reacted with chlorine and resulted in such a blunder.

Renaud Lavillenie got humiliation by home fans in Rio

While French pole vaulter Renaud Lavillenie was striving hard to get a gold medal during a competition with Brazilian Thiago Braz da Silva, the audience booed him when he failed to win the competition and ended up winning the silver medal. Afterwards, at the award podium, also audiences booed him, which according to the the IOC President Thomas Bach, was 'shocking' and 'unacceptable'.
