West Michigan Doctor Embarks on Epic Challenge, Swimming Across Lake Michigan to Raise $12,000 for a Worthy Cause

50-year-old West Michigan doctor Bryan Huffman intends to embark on a journey that will positively impact society. Being a citizen of Michigan, surrounded by water, Dr. Huffman felt the necessity of swimming training in their state. To give shape to his thought, he finally decided to swim across 51 miles in the Michigan Lake to raise money.

Dr. Huffman’s noble intentions

Considering the drowning ratio of children in the US, Dr. Huffman decided to swim to raise money that could be used to provide free swimming lessons at Holland Aquatic Center. He is aspiring to raise $12000, which can help give free lessons to a minimum of 100 children.

Dr. Huffman’s record

It is not the first time Dr. Huffman was messing with water, but he already has set a record for swimming 22 miles across the English Channel. But this time, he has decided to swim for a noble cause. He believes his rising fund will reduce drowning cases in the USA.

The journey is about to start in a month

Dr. Huffman hopes to start from Rawley Point and end at Ludington in August. According to him, the swim may take 24 to 30 hours, depending on the lake's conditions. Though Dr. Huffman has called it a marathon, considering the noble cause behind it, the swim should get a bigger name.
