Epic WrestleMania Entrance Could Get WWE Canceled; Company Used ‘Concentration Camp’ Photos Invoking Response From Auschwitz Museum

WrestleMania 39 saw a highly successful event, reaching the expectation on point, if not exceeded. Dominik Mysterio vs Rey Mysterio came up as one of the most intense personal feuds in the entire WWE history. But a certain feature related to this match brought some serious trouble for the Stamford-based company lately.

WWE aired a video package for this match

During the pre-show, WWE aired a video package for this match. It featured Dominik’s prison stay scene in a spectacular entry promo, which mistakenly included an image of the Auschwitz concentration camp which beholds the tragic history of the Nazi attack.

Image removed by WWE

Though WWE removed the image from the footage before it went live, a Twitter user already pointed this out on social media.

Auschwitz Memorial Museum authority called out WWE

It didn’t go unnoticed by the Auschwitz Memorial Museum authority. They called out the biggest wrestling promotion for hurting the sentiment of millions.

Museum authority condemns the incident

Condemning the incident, they wrote on Twitter, “The fact that Auschwitz image was used to promote a WWE match is hard to call ‘an editing mistake’. Exploiting the site that became a symbol of enormous human tragedy is shameless and insults the memory of all victims of Auschwitz.”

Match involving the mishap

However, the match involving this mishap was one of the major hits of WrestleMania Night 1 at SoFi stadium, in California, featuring Rey and Dominik Mysterio.
