"Memory of my mom": NFL Star Touches Hearts of 682k Fans on Late Mother's Special Day With Meaningful Gesture Towards a Good Cause

Discover how Bobby Wagner did his bit for humanity in honor of the memory of his late mother. His mother Phenia Mae Wagner died of a heart attack in 2009 when Bobby Wagner had a freshman year at college. She didn't want him to play football in childhood that he may get hurt. And today as a  football star, he did something to bring smiles to the faces of stroke patients.

"In memory of my mom, I wanted to share on her birthday that I have partnered with Virginia Franciscan Health to create the Phenia Mae Fund - Our goal is to assist stroke patients and promote stroke education."

The website of the said foundation quotes Bobby Wagner, " “The awareness around strokes isn’t talked about enough. Having someone close to me suffer from one and the after-effects they experience makes me really want to help other stroke patients get back on their feet. I know my mom would’ve wanted me to make a difference and that’s what I decided to do.”
