Chris Jones contract extention dilemma

Chris Jones missed attending the Chiefs’ mandatory minicamp recently. This action could nearly cost him $100K in fines while he awaits a long-term contract extension. Later he also missed the team’s Super Bowl LVII ring ceremony that led fans to assume the worst, that his absence was in some way related to the contract negotiations.

Jones is in the final year of his four-year, $80 million deal with Kansas City and has a $28.2 million cap hit for the 2023 season according to Over The Cap.
