LSU Mourns the Tragic Death of 29-Year-Old Former Women’s Basketball Star.

Danielle Ballard, the 29-year-old former basketball player of Louisiana State University, bided goodbye to her life on Thursday night after hitting by a car. According to the police, the doctors identified her as dead after taking her to the hospital. The tragic consequence of the former athlete let LSU drown in the gloom.

The accident was not a hit-and-run case.

Police reported that Ballard was walking at the moment the car hit her. The incident took place around 1.30 am at Coleman Road and Raleigh Lagrange Road in Memphis, the hometown of Ballard. However, the driver was present at the spot when the police came.

Ballard's contribution to the team.

Though Ballard called an end to her basketball career at LSU, she was an aspiring candidate for the university team during 2012-15 as she aided the university in leading to the NCAA Sweet 16. Apart from that, she was the selection of the All-SEC Defensive Team and also got the honors of winning the Louisiana Freshmen of the Year and MVP of the women's basketball team titles.

The university’s deep condolences.

Upon getting the tragic news, the university reminisced about her contribution and posted an image of her playing with the caption, "LSU mourns the loss of Danielle Ballard."
