This question is still up for debate only because of the data that proves there was a possibility of Alonso coming out of the pits ahead of race winner Max Verstappen. However, the critics who are calling the Monaco GP double pit stop a blunder from Aston Martin are shunned by the boss, Mike Krack.

Despite a possible mishap, Fernando Alonso has maintained his optimism and positivity toward the Monaco GP strategy. In fact, the Spaniard defended it as well after the race with logical reasoning. However, there is data now to raise questions about the team’s decision. Despite that, speaking to Race, Mike Krack is adamant the team made the right call.

“If ‘aggressive’ means ‘gambling’, the answer is clearly no,” said Krack. “We are not gamblers, we are a data-driven team. We look at all the information we’re having. So, if that is what you mean, then the answer is clear.”

Aston Martin entities are still being made to answer for their actions in Monaco while they prepare for Barcelona. However, that is the nature of Formula 1. A fact everyone agrees with but isn’t particularly pleased with as well.

Fernando Alonso is irked by F1’s fixation with the negativity

Alonso has showcased an extremely positive side of him since the start of the 2023 season thanks to the slew of positive results. Now, the Spaniard has become averse to negativity. However, the nature of Formula 1 is to focus on negativity, and the Spaniard is irked by this fixation.

Alonso admitted he “doesn’t like in Formula 1″ – “that we always see the negatives. We always spot the one thing they [teams] do wrong and then we go hard on them.”

The team boss seconded Alonso’s opinion. “Yeah, but that is the nature of Formula 1. So, it’s something we have to live with.”
