In a group stage match, Australian bowling line up ran through the Indian batting and dismissed them for just 125 runs. It all started with Brett Lee taking out Sourav Ganguly and Virender Sehwag early followed by Jason Gillespie who bowled a consistent line and length and reaped benefits with extra-ordinary benefits of 13-3 in his quota of 10 overs at an economy of 1.3. Sachin Tendulkar toiled hard for his 36 before falling to a slower ball from Gillespie. Indian bowling didn’t have much to work upon and Australia marched to the victory in just 22 overs and won by an emphatic 9 wickets.

MATCH SCORES : Australia 128-1 (A.Gilchrist 48; M.Hayden 45) in 22.1 overs beat India 125-10 (S.Tendulkar 36) by 9 wickets.
