In the current era of pro-wrestling, high expectations are rarely met; however, thanks to FTR and Young Bucks, that wasn’t a problem. The two teams gave the fans a match of the year worthy contest at AEW Full Gear.

Saying that the two teams gave everything they had would be an understatement. Some years back, Matt Jackson and Cash Wheeler had tweeted, “One day we will wrestle the Revival/Young Bucks, and everyone will rejoice.”

That’s exactly what happened as fans witnessed the heaven of tag-team wrestling. Both teams also gave a little nostalgia to all fans as they paid tribute to five legendary tag teams.

FTR was the first team to pay tribute as they paid tribute to the Steiner brothers. The champs delivered the shades of Steiners on their opponents.

The Young bucks then gave a strong response with a Dudley Death Drop (3-D). This move gave tribute to the legendary D-Von, Bubba Ray and Spike Dudley.

The Young bucks again took it up a notch as they recreated the signature move of the Hardy Boyz. The duo performed a twist of faith and the Swanton bomb on Cash Wheeler.

FTR then replied with a move of a recent Tag Team known as DIY. For those who don’t know, DIY is the famous team of NXT Superstars Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa. The duo also performed the famous Hart attack move of the Hall of Fame tag team, the Hart Foundation.

The Young Bucks had a similar stipulation to what Cody Rhodes had last year at Full Gear 2019. If they lost, they could never again challenge for the titles. Hence, losing wasn’t an option.

As the match reached its end, Wheeler nailed Matt with a superkick and then thought of delivering the AJ Styles springboard 450 splash. However, it didn’t go as planned.

Wheeler was then on the receiving end of a superkick from a barefooted Matt Jackson who pinned the former to win the titles. The Young Bucks won their first-ever AEW Tag Team Championships and celebrated in the ring as they were joined by Kenny Omega.
