AEW’s Kenny Omega and NJPW’s Will Ospreay Get Into Heated Banter on Twitter

AEW Champion Kenny Omega and former IWGP World Heavyweight Champion Will Ospreay had a verbal spat on Twitter. The PWI 500 rankings are out, and have become a subject of debate. Omega and Ospreay were the most high-profile members of the IWC to toss verbal barbs over the rankings.

Kenny Omega ranks the highest with WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns trailing him in the 2nd spot. Will Ospreay, who is placed in the 7th rank, provoked Kenny with a tweet saying that he could beat the number one any day. This led to the start of an ugly online spat between the duo.

Kenny Omega lashes out at Will Ospreay, and Will replies

Kenny Omega had a stellar year as he ended up capturing multiple titles with brilliant performances. This will be the 2nd time in his career where he has ended up at the top of the PWI rankings. After Will’s provoking comments about defeating Omega on any day, Omega lashed out at Will.

Kenny, who was obviously in his heel persona, commented NJPW has been ice cold since he left and that not even Dave Meltzer could convince his followers to consider Will as a part of the Best in the world conversation.

Will Ospreay did not have it, and he replied to Omega’s tweet and even teased a match between the duo in AEW. Will said-“Last chat we had was “you need to be the guy.” Since then you left we sold out MSG, sold more tickets at the Tokyo dome than ever before, and put on banger after banger. A pandemic put the breaks on & you know it. Open that door, let’s have this conversation.”

Will Ospreay has been teasing a potential move to AEW

Ospreay is one of the finest wrestlers in the industry. The former IWGP World Heavyweight Champion has won several titles at different promotions in his career. Trained under the London School of Lucha Libre, Will is the current British Heavyweight Champion of the RevPro wrestling brand. But for the past few weeks, Will has been teasing a potential move to the hot and happening AEW.

In an Instagram story, Will responded to a fan who asked him if a switch to AEW was on the cards for him or not. Ospreay replied by saying he would love to go to AEW but added that he is still an NJPW STRONG guy. If Will makes his debut for AEW, the wrestling fans worldwide would love to watch Kenny and him lock horns.
