Former AEW champion, Chris Jericho appeared in an exclusive interview with Kenny McIntosh of Inside the Ropes, where ‘Le Champion’ never denied the fact that Punk is coming to AEW nor did he accept it openly.
“Well, I mean, the short answer is, ‘Of course.’ I mean, he’s one of the few guys out there that has this mythology surrounding him because he hasn’t wrestled so long.”

He is rumored to debut for AEW for “The First Dance” edition of Rampage in his hometown of Chicago.

In the same interview, Jericho then further boasted about AEW, saying the company is doing just fine with the mix of talented wrestlers in their roster.

He further added that the promotion is already creating a “buzz” whether or not Punk is associated with them. He said that the event for Chicago has sold out 12,000 tickets without a single fight being announced.

Surely, the fans wish that Punk would show up on Rampage and address his home crowd in Chicago. Punk’s extended absence from the squared circle has definitely bolstered his appeal amongst both the hardcore fans as well as the casual audience.
