Along with Henry, AEW also saw Lio Rush make his much awaited debut at the Casino Battle Royal. Henry becomes the second former WWE star to show up in AEW and instantly become an enormous deal. Whether he’ll wrestle is going to be doubtful, although he’s expressed his desire to have one more match.

The former World Heavyweight Champion wasn’t under a contract from WWE, and many expected him to show up in AEW earlier in the year. However, this is a massive signing, literally and figuratively for Tony Khan in his war with WWE and Vince McMahon.

Next week, we’ll hear from Mark Henry for the first time on AEW Dynamite. This also marks the first time Henry appears for another promotion.

Mark Henry’s WWE career is quite incredible. He’s held the World Heavyweight Champion and the ECW Championship and also won the European Championship during the Attitude Era.

His friend Paul Wight inducted him into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2018 and called the curtains on his historic career there.

Since then, he’s appeared on special episodes of Raw and SmackDown, most recently at Raw’s Legends’ Night. He had an altercation with the man he beat to win the World Title, Randy Orton.
