Among Us: Popular YouTube Channel Depicts Game As a Reality Show

The pandemic situation has forced the majority of the human population locked up in their homes with nothing but video games to keep them company. This period saw a lot of games garner huge popularity, one of which is Among Us. This 2018 game registered a record number of hours viewed on Twitch, with 31 million hours of viewing. Among Us is easily one of the most popular games streamed on the platform.

The game’s meteoric rise can be attributed to two major factors. For one, it closely resembles the popular party games like Werewolves/Mafia and provides players a sense of social activity since friends can play and enjoy it together. Secondly, it does not have the steep learning curve that popular multiplayer games like, say, Fortnite, and Warzone have.

What would Among Us be like if it was a reality show?

Naturally, following this rise in popularity, the game also provided fodder for internet-based content like memes and videos. Recently, YouTube channel Laugh Over Life made a video depicting Among Us as a reality show. The video quite accurately shows what usually goes down in the game. In a way, the game does work almost like a game show/reality show.

The video provides a rather hilarious take on the game.

“There is an imposter among us. Our friends have found themselves on an all expense paid trip to mars. Our group has to figure out who on the ship is the murderer, while making sure they are doing their tasks so that their spaceship doesn’t fall out of space. Is red sus? Who is the imposter venting? Who will be murdered? Find out in this week’s episode of Among Us but it’s a reality show.”

Content like this goes on to further establish the popularity that the game has seen in recent times. Do you think it will be able to retain it after all this is over? (if it gets over, that is)
