The much-anticipated Fall Update for Animal Crossing: New Horizons went live recently, greeting players with a range of Halloween-themed content. To gear players up for the Halloween night celebrations on October 31, a collection of special items and furniture known as the Spooky Set is now available.

These spooky items are sometimes crafted with Halloween pumpkins, and there are 17 of them. Unlike other events, this time, players have various ways to collect all the Spooky Set items.

Spooky Set items and DIY recipes during October in Animal Crossing: New Horizons

Some Halloween-themed items are available for purchase from Nook’s Cranny, throughout October. Although it could take some time to land a specific item from the store, it’s a good alternative to crafting.

Besides that, players can also obtain DIY recipes for spooky items by talking to villagers crafting in their homes. There is also the usual way of learning DIY recipes from message bottles washed up on the beach and balloon presents in the sky. Crafting the items using a recipe will require Orange Pumpkins that players will have to grow and harvest.

Here are the Spooky Set items that players can buy from Nook’s Cranny or craft using DIY recipes obtained from villagers, bottles, and balloons. Both the price at Nook’s Cranny or the materials required to craft are mentioned below. The Spooky Fence is an exception as it can only be obtained from crafting.

After receiving the exclusive items, players can obtain the other Spooky Set items and recipes from Nook’s Cranny and villagers crafting in their homes after October 31. However, there are a few exceptions.

The Spooky Rug, Spooky Wall, and Spooky Flooring cannot be crafted. In short, except for those three items, players can get DIY recipes for all items and also earn or buy them without learning the recipes.

Players can earn the following Spooky Set items and recipes on October 31, during the Halloween Night event.

  • Spooky Carriage – 30 Orange Pumpkin, 20 Hardwood, 20 Wood, 20 Softwood, 10 Iron Nugget.

Additional reactions and candy

Players can also obtain Jack’s pumpkin-head and robe from him. By wearing Jack’s items, players can trick villagers into giving them their candy. Meanwhile, there are two additional reactions that players can learn over Halloween, the scare and the haunt reactions. Players can learn both reactions by giving villagers or Jack candy, respectively.

All the Spooky Set items require Orange Pumpkins to craft initially. Players can then customize most items further into three color variations by growing and harvesting Green, Yellow, and White Pumpkins. The grand occasion is still a while away, and ACNH players have already started preparations for the festivities on October 31.
