The pandemic situation turned out to be a boon for the entire gaming industry. With nearly everyone stuck in their homes during the lockdown, video games were the only thing that kept them company. As a result, last year saw many titles rise to huge popularity. For example, Animal Crossing: New Horizons, Among Us, and Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout saw an immense rise in their fanbase.

This title has built a loyal player base for itself, and its fan community just keeps growing. As a testimony to this fact, the game has topped the UK charts once again this week. Note that by “this week”, we mean the week that ended on the 6th of February. Animal Crossing had lost the apex position for just a week the previous month, but looks like the title has kicked back hard.

Animal Crossing flaunts its massive popularity by topping this week’s UK charts again

Most of the titles that saw a spike in their user base were simple ones that required no prior “gaming” skills to play. Animal Crossing is a title that allows players to immerse themselves in a carefree, relaxing life simulation. For many, this game offers a refuge from the chaos of daily life, and this includes many famous personalities as well.

For example, Brie “Captain Marvel” Larson recently revealed that she has been a fan of this game since her high school days. She has been a vocal fan of the Nintendo Switch platform as well. Recently, she even appeared on a Nintendo TV commercial.
