Novak Djokovic has been one such player who partnered with one of the most famous strategic analyst Craig O’Shannessy. Alexander Zverev has also revealed that he and his uses statistical data to analyse the game of his opponents. The German said the big data analytics was very helpful for him during the 2018 ATP Finals to know the game pattern of his rivals.

Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer secretive about using data services?

Federer and Nadal are often very discreet when talking about the use of statistical data for improving their game plan. The Spaniard barely wants to comment on the matter. On the other hand, the Swiss maestro has always stated that he does not usually look too much at that kind of thing since he prefers to focus on his game and on doing well what he knows.

However, according to the reports of an English media, it was leaked that Roger Federer and his team pay the Premium part of access to Golden Set Analytics (one of the leading tennis data analytics companies for top tennis players). The 20-time Grand Slam champion thus have privileged information of his rivals.

On the other hand, Rafael Nadal’s team say that they use no outside agencies and only the analytical mind of his coach Carlos Moya, who also joined Nadal’s camp in December 2016.

The data analytics services are very expensive and the players who can afford them can have a competitive advantage over the field, helping the best stay on top of the rankings.
