Why is John McEnroe jealous of basketball players?

John McEnroe certainly is not a big fan of the conditions in which tennis is played. Added to that, he also complained about the challenges of adjusting to different surfaces and their properties accordingly. “I do get jealous of basketball players because every day you play it’s like you are on the wood. You know it’s more forgiving and at fault when we play a lot. You play it like 7:30 at 70 degrees. It’s great,” he said.

We are playing grass, we are playing clay, we are playing fast surface. It’s like we are making it as difficult as possible for ourselves.”
