‘GOAT Wins Don’t Come Easy’ – American Star Frances Tiafoe Gets Real After Compatriot Thumped Rafael Nadal at Australian Open

Frances Tiafoe is quite happy with his fellow countryman, Mackenzie McDonald’s recent victory at the Australian Open. The 25-year-old tennis player who defeated the 22-time Grand Slam champion in the US Open last year is well aware of how tough the matches against tennis legends like Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal can be. While talking about McDonald’s victory against the Spaniard, the American tennis player talked about how tough it is to win against the GOATs of the game. 

Last year the 25-year-old tennis player defeated the Spaniard and this year his fellow countrymen defeated the 22-time Grand Slam champion in the second round at the Australian Open. And now the world number 65 has a story to tell his future grandkids after his victory against one of the top tennis players.

The world number 17 after winning his second round against Juncheng Shang, during the Press Conference talked about 22-time Grand Slam Champion’s recent form and what his thoughts were when he saw his fellow countryman defeat the world number two ranked tennis player.

The tennis player shared what he said to the 27-year-old tennis player after his victory against the Spaniard. He said, “I told Mackey, Listen, you could join the three amigos, you know: me, Fritz, and Tommy. We all got him. I don’t know if you want to join it.”

Additionally, Tiafoe also talked about how life-changing his win against the former world number can be.

He said, “GOAT wins don’t come easy. Something to tell his grandkids one day, and you have to be happy for that guy. But, you know, selfishly, yes, I would have loved that matchup again because beating him in New York that day definitely changed my life.”

Nevertheless, the tennis ace might feel that defeating Nadal is a huge career turn. But according to him, he has chosen a different GOAT for the sport.
