Recently, during an interview, the 27-year-old turned up in bright red trainers and a red cap. When asked why he did not follow the all-white dress code, Kyrgios said, “Because I do what I want. I’m not above the rules. Well, I just like wearing my Jordans. I’ll wear some Triple Whites tomorrow. But nobody else, even after Wimbledon, no-one else really walks with Jordans on the court.”

Kyrgios overcomes Brandon Nakashima

Yesterday, the reigning Australian Open men’s doubles champion defeated the 20-year-old American, Brandon Nakashima. It was a thrilling fourth-round encounter with constant momentum shifts. The first set began with both the players holding their serves. However, Kyrgios lost his serve towards the latter stages of the set to hand Nakashima the opening set 6-4.

Following his early loss, Kyrgios came back strongly to take the next two sets 6-4 and 7-6 (2). Subsequently, it was Nakashima’s turn to make a comeback as he leveled the match by winning the fourth set, 6-3. The deciding set was a one-sided affair, with Kyrgios taking a comfortable 6-2 win to advance into the next round. In the quarterfinals of the Wimbledon Championships 2022, Kyrgios will face Cristian Garin of Chile.
